In the beginning, most people are very motivated to lose weight. It is sticking with it until they achieve their desired goals that most people have difficulty with. Reasons for this include not having clear goals, having unattainable goals and not staying focused on the reasons behind starting a weight loss program.

Remember Your Why

clarify the reasons why you want to lose weight in the first place. Ask yourself why exactly are you trying to lose weight? Are you looking to get slim so you can wear that special bikini this summer? Are you looking to get back into the dating scene? Perhaps it is a medical reason such as diabetes. Focusing on your why will help you stay motivated so you can reach your weight loss goals.

Set Attainable Goals

Setting goals that are easy to reach is key to being successful when losing weight. Start with a small weekly goal. Once you achieve that, add on another one and repeat this process until you reach your ultimate major goal. Also, do not set goals that are can’t realistically be achieved such as losing 30 pounds in a months time. This will not only be frustrating when you do not achieve the goal, it will also prevent you from staying motivated for long enough to reach your desired long term weight loss goal.

Give It Time

Weight loss is a process and takes some time to achieve. There is no point to starving yourself for days in an attempt to shed those pounds faster. Even if you were to lose some weight quickly, it is not likely to stay off. If you take things slow and lose weight at a healthy rate such as a pound or two a week, you will feel better, look better and your weight will be more likely to stay off. Getting motivated to lose weight is far easier in the long run when you give yourself the time you need to succeed.

Make Room For Mistakes

Just about everyone who is on a diet has been tempted one time or another to splurge a little. Whether it be that bag of potato chips or that slice of pizza, do not beat yourself up at those times when your impulses get the better of you. Forgive yourself and move on.

Have a Long Term Plan

Most people do not have a problem losing weight. It’s keeping the weight off that is the problem for most. It is important to to create a long term weight loss plan such as healthy eating and a regular exercise routine. This will make sure that you keep off those pounds that you worked so hard at losing.

Once you get yourself into action, you’ll find that getting motivated to lose weight becomes far easier. Set your goals and start at once at achieving them. Go slowly and reward your small success as you go along. This will help the process go much more smoothly and you will find that losing weight is not as difficult as you might have thought it to be

Constantly pushing the envelope during your workouts is the best way to continually get results. It's not easy, but it will get you results.

Constantly pushing the envelope during your workouts is the best way to continually get results. It’s not easy, but it will get you results.

But I have very good news for you. Using your emotions can make the process of constantly pushing yourself that much easier.

So here are 5 ways to take your workouts to the next level with your emotions:

1. Use classical conditioning: The easiest way to do this is to exercise at the same time every day and to have some type of pre workout ritual. By doing this, your mind will associate your “exercise time” with very specific psychological cues. This in turn will prime your mind for emotional agitation before exercise.

2. Have some caffeine: A little caffeine can go a long ways here. It gets your adrenal glands to secrete stress hormones which can help facilitate maximum power output. Just make sure you aren’t desensitized to caffeine or this won’t work very well.

3. Mentally agitate yourself: Now humans are very complex, you are very complex. So experiment with different methods here. Some people have success with meditation, others like to watch a motivational clip and others like to listen music. Pick the method that works best for you and use it right before exercise.

4. Get the blood flowing: Increasing blood flow makes all the above processes work that much better. You see, it’s not just about getting the stress hormones into your system, it’s also about getting them transported to where they need to go. So warm up or take a hot shower before exercising.

5. Get sleep: Deep sleep is when your body replenishes its supply of chemicals that get used up when you are amplifying your emotions. So if you aren’t getting deep and long sleep, you will be running on a limited supply of neurotransmitters and adrenalin.

Emotional manipulation is a key ingredient for having the best workouts your body can handle. So don’t wait to take action here because those that wait let their dreams vanish into thin air!

Writer Katherine Crawford, an exercise expert and recent flabby arms sufferer, instructs women on how to get rid of upper arm fat. Figure out how to get sexy arms by visiting her website about how to shake weight right now!

Finding motivation to exercise can be challenging, but it can be achieved by following some simple tips regularly until they become habits, and exercising becomes a natural part of your day to day routine.

Build Slowly To Start Off With

It is vital not to over-do it in the beginning. Begin small and add new exercises or routines on as you become more fit. You could start off with a daily walk around your neighborhood and speed it up as the weeks pass. Before you know it you’ll be able to jog for miles and losing those excess pounds easily in the process.

Record Your Progress

There are several ways to track your progress when losing weight with exercising and dieting. Typically, a scale is the preferred option for most people. Watching the numbers on the scale decline is a motivator to keep exercising. You can also take photos of yourself each month to observe your progress. It is when you start to observe noticeable results that exercise becomes fun and rewarding.

Partner With Friends Or Family Members Who Have Similar Goals

It can be highly motivating to have another person by your side you has the same goals as you, and this is definitely something you should consider. The person can be a family member or friend that goes to the gym with you several times a week, for example. You could meet up each morning and go for your jog together. A partner is a great motivator to have for those times when when you’re feeling uninspired. They can remind you of your reasons why you are trying to lose weight in the first place, which will give you the boost you need to stay on track.

Enjoy Yourself And Have Fun!

If you are not enjoying exercising it can easily start to get boring, difficult and tiring. Fairly quickly, you can find that you start to miss workouts and eventually you may even stop altogether. Experiment with new exercise routines and change them up every so often. Doing the same type of exercise over and over can really get to be a drag, so keep your exercise fun and enjoyable by adding variety to it.

Refuse To Allow Yourself To Consider The Possibility Of Quitting

Write down your goals and the reasons why you are exercising and trying to lose weight. Review this list everyday to keep your motivation levels high. If you feel like you want to quit, read over your list and get emotionally involved with your goals. How will you feel once you have achieved your goals? If you go off track and miss a workout, forgive yourself and start up up right back where you left off. Give yourself room for mistakes whenever they occur. What’s most important is that you begin again at once with your daily exercise routine and never quit.

Finding motivation to exercise does not have to be a constant challenge. From time to time, you just have to do it whether you are motivated or not. However you can use the strategies above first to help put you in the mood so that you will enjoy the experience instead of forcing it.

Many people may be wondering what gives vegetarians the strength to give up meat altogether. In reality, vegetarians commit to such a lifestyle for a number of different reasons.

Many people may be wondering what gives vegetarians the strength to give up meat altogether. In reality, vegetarians commit to such a lifestyle for a number of different reasons.

Most vegetarians claim that people make the switch for at least one out of three reasons.

The first and most common reason is that there are various ethical problems that arise from eating meat. Most people may think that debeaking chickens, forcing them to live in small cages, and slaughtering them when they don’t produce eggs fast enough is inhumane.

Most vegetarians also find it bothersome to have animals live in such crowded and stressful environments. The fact that most of these animals are fed with hormone-laden feed doesn’t help either.

People who become vegetarians because of this often draw ethical boundaries at different points, depending on their ethical beliefs. For example, some vegans will not even eat yeast, wear wool, or eat certain vegetables like carrots, which require killing the plant to harvest.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, some find it sensible enough to at least have fish and chicken in their diet.

The second most popular reason that most vegans make the switch is because eating meat conflicts with their dietary preferences, while some simply don’t enjoy the texture and taste of meat. Others avoid meat for health concerns, especially those who are having problems with high cholesterol.

The third reason that vegetarians state is the fact that consuming meat can potentially harm the environment. They claim that the consumption of meat causes farmers to continually deforest land; just so grazing lands can be created for cattle.

The ones mentioned above are just a few of the reasons that make vegetarians opt for such a lifestyle. But in truth, there are a lot other sensible reasons why one may choose not to have meat in their diet.

You see, weight lifting does many things that increase both the quality and health of your life.

I would actually go as far to say that weight lifting is far superior to cardiovascular exercise for improving health.

So here is why I am making these bold statements:

1. Less cigarette addictions: The research is clear here, people who exercise are less likely to smoke cigarettes. Perhaps the investment in exercise creates additional motivation to not damage the results by smoking.

2. Less insulin output: With weight lifting, your body needs less and less insulin to get carbohydrates into your muscles. This translates into lower levels of blood sugar and reduced risk for diabetes. And recall that diabetes is currently plaguing our country.

3. Better eating patterns: Regular gym rats are more likely to eat healthier. Now there are a lot of explanations for this. Maybe the investment in regular exercise is a very strong motivator for eating clean to reap the most benefit from the exercise.

4. Better weight control: Your metabolism dictates how many calories you burn even while you sleep. Thus, increasing your metabolism is the best way to lose weight. And the best way to increase your metabolism is with lifting weights.

5. Optimized mental states: The research is clear here as well, weight training reduces the risk of depression and can buffer the effects of chronic stress. This happens because weight training can actually change the levels of different hormones in your body.

6. Everything gets easier: As your body gets stronger, everything you do will seem easier. And if everything you do seems easier, life will be that much sweeter!

As you can clearly see, weight lifting is not just about aesthetics. There is much more to lifting weight than just looking good!

And remember to take action on this information now rather than later or you just might forget what you have learned!

They forget to tell you that the perfect body does not make for the perfect life, that it will not generally bring you the happiness you desire in and of itself. They also don’t share with you the possibility that you can be experiencing outrageous health and wellbeing at any size or shape.

What I’ve observed is women feeling less than their best looking for a solution for their unhappiness or discontent. Sadly the women who have achieved their ‘ideal’ weight or size, are often still unhappy and discontent with who they are, and how they feel. The reality is they were really looking for what they thought being their ideal weight would give them. Usually what they want is to feel happy, energetic, vibrant; they want to feel outrageously happy and healthy!

So why when they get to their desired size or weight are they still not satisfied? Why do they then go on to want to adjust other things about themselves – the shape of their bottom, arms or nose or even their relationship? What they want is not about their weight, or size, what they eat or even how often they exercise. It’s about the quality of their life; how they feel every day when they wake up and then every second of that day – it’s about how they feel in their own skin. If you spend all day thinking about all the ways you’re not perfect, then you’ll never feel that sense of outrageous health and wellbeing – and you will never live the great life you deserve.

It has been my privilege over the last 3.5 years to work with more than 1500 women through my fitness studio, assisting them to create the outrageously healthy life they desire and deserve. As a fitness professional people came to myself and my team looking for a solution to their fitness and weight loss ‘problems’. But here’s the thing – what these gorgeous women really wanted was what they thought getting thin and fit would give them: feeling great about themselves, energy, vibrance and happiness! A sense of outrageous health and wellbeing.

The diet and weight loss industry would have you believe that getting thin will solve all your problems, I am sure you have heard things like ‘nothing tastes as good as thin feels’. What they don’t tell you is that a huge percentage of those people who reach their goal weight regain that weight, and more, within the next one to two years. Does that sound like the solution to outrageous health and wellbeing? In reality if they had a permanent solution to our weight loss woes we would all be thin and happy and they would be out of business. They really don’t want us to be permanently free of them do they? Which is why they only deal with the symptoms, excess weight, not the real issues, belief or behaviors that have lead us to gain and hold onto the weight in the first place.

So what’s the solution? I’m glad you asked. The solution is to learn how to feel outrageously healthy and happy TODAY regardless of your weight, size, shape or health issues. Outrageous health starts with the quality of your life and the connection with yourself and then flows into all areas of your existence. You don’t need to get thin or fit first, because once you know how to feel outrageous health and wellbeing easily and effortlessly then everything else follows from there. It’s a natural progression. Will you need to take some action – absolutely – but once you stop focusing on all that is wrong with you, making steps toward the outrageously healthy you and the life you deserve is easy!

1. Begin with the end in mind- Is there something you want to accomplish this year? What do you want? To lose weight? Gain muscle? Make more friends? Have more time with your family? Your goals are yours. Establish goals in all aspects of your life starting with the end in mind. From there you can work backwards. All goals must be measurable and obtainable. To help you with the brainstorming process, utilize Mind Mapping software. You can download a free version of “Free Mind” and map your thoughts. Define EXACTLY what you want! Remember that fuzzy targets do not get hit!
2. Control self talk-Our thoughts are the most powerful tools we have. Thoughts are critical factors in our success and this is why I refer to them as tools. Understand now that controlling your thoughts dictates the outcome of the game. You have the ability to control the messages in your brain; the 2500 words per minute running through your mind that dictate who you are, and what you are capable of. Most of these thoughts have been taught to us by somebody else. Are you even aware that your attitudes about health and wealth were sculpted by your mothers, fathers, teachers, preachers, coaches and big pharmacy since birth? Start sifting through the rubble of such thoughts and ask if your beliefs are serving you or not. As we start to change our beliefs on a fundamental level, our outcome potential also changes dramatically. Visualize yourself a lean, toned, athletic, wealthy and successful individual. Believe you are on your way there now. Change your beliefs about what is possible. Modify the self talk and I promise you will change your life!

3. Write it down- By recording every bite of food that goes into your mouth this month, I promise you that you will lose 10 pounds in 30 days. Do not believe me? Do it and prove me wrong. Successful people keep score because they know what is at stake. Play every ace you have! Record your decisions and ask a friend if they believe the choices you are making are driving you closer to or further from your goal.

Utilize these three powerful strategies! Believe they will change your life! Fail forward FAST! In order for things in your life to change, YOU must change. There are many exercises you can do but you can exercise your eating habits even more. Knowing what foods are best for your diet to lose belly fat will help you enormously. If you do not do both you are fighting a vicious cycle that you cannot win very well. Why fight the obvious and do it the easy way by eating the right foods while exercising the correct muscles. Here are a few of them to get you started.

The incredible egg will get you toward you goal more than any other food. It burns the fat and gives you ample protein for your diet while you work out. You can do them in any style and if you are going to fry them use olive oil and not butter. Stay away from butter as it will defeat the purpose.

Mama’s oatmeal is another great source of energy and fights the fat. It has the natural ability to fill you up while you pump up. Also ingest at least three serving of non fat dairy. You need it to build your bones and add calcium to your diet. Avoid processed foods and sugar that will clog you up and weigh you down.

Your dairy can come from any source as long as it is low fat or fat free. You can also get going with natural beans in any form. They are high in fiber to regulate you as you work on weight loss to get that flat belly. They are filling and delicious and can be cooked in many different ways.

And don’t forget to drink plenty of water. You are a machine and water in your oil that will keep you moving. You cannot get dehydrated as then you will not lose weight. Keep on drinking the six to eight glasses of water per day that your body needs to flush out the fat and keep you hydrated.

Eat six small meals a day instead of three. As you eat a small amount you will be replenishing your body with the nutrients that it needs. If you eat only three you will store up fat and not constantly burn it off. So stick with six and aid in raising your metabolism naturally. Stay away from pasta and breads as these work their way to the middle. Do not cut out fat altogether just use good choices in what foods you incorporate into your diet.

Don’t give up and stick to your guns to get the six pack ABS you have been dreaming about. You will be happier when you see the flab coming off faster than before. Give it two weeks and try this regimen if you are not already and see the difference it makes for you and your workout.

Positive affirmations will reinforce the new positive image you hold for yourself, once they are instated. Positive thinking will replace negative thinking on a conscious and subconscious level. You will then have access to all of the positive energy you have within and create a new positive reality.

You need to really feel the emotions while using positive affirmations. Experience each emotion fully. In your mind, you must believe that each affirmation is a fact and is true. If you follow these guidelines, your positive changes will happen more quickly.

The first 30 days are usually the make or break when it comes to positive affirmations. It takes about 21 days to make a change in your mental image, for some it may be longer. I suggest 30 to be safe. Writing them down until you know them by heart is a good way to start. If you are using them as frequently as you should, it will not take long.

These simple statements can be used anywhere in your home, car, work, etc. You can use them in the morning which getting ready, brushing your teeth or hair, showering, before you go to sleep or before a meal. Get creative, but remember, the affirmations should be at the same time everyday. This will help create a trigger for you. For example, every time you brush your teeth, after the first 21 days, it will just come automatically to you.

Another thing that will help you change your thought patterns more quickly is to continually remove all negative thoughts you experience daily. If you allow negative thought to dominate, your positive affirmations will not make any progress. As soon as you notice a negative thought, eject it.

Most of humanity have overly negative minds, that was how we were raised. As you become conscious of your thought patterns, notice when your thoughts are negative and eject them. Usually, it takes times to notice these thoughts because we are caught up in the moment and acting unconsciously, but with practice, you can catch these negative as they are happening. And before long, you will become conscious of them before they even begin.
